Rising Damp

To put it quite simply, rising damp is moisture that is absorbed, usually from below floor level, by the porous bricks and plaster in your walls.

The general causes of rising damp are :

1

Disintegrated or failed damp proof coarse, especially prominent in older houses, or none installed at all.

2

A leaking pipe within the structure.

2

Insufficient drainage of rain water around the house.

Depending on the severity of the issue and what the cause is, we have various recommendations to treat rising damp.
